In the third quarter of 2022, the top communication apps on Android in Latin America demonstrated notable performance metrics. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into weekly downloads, active users, and revenue trends for the leading apps: WhatsApp Messenger, Telegram, Messenger, WhatsApp Business, and Brave Private Web Browser, VPN.

WhatsApp Messenger saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 1.3M at the end of June and peaking at over 1.5M by the end of September. The app maintained a strong presence with active users, growing from 260M to around 263M over the quarter.

Telegram experienced steady revenue growth, starting at about $2.4K per week and reaching nearly $4.9K by the end of September. Downloads fluctuated slightly but remained close to the 900K mark throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight decline, moving from 24.9M to 24.1M.

Messenger had a relatively stable download rate, averaging around 860K weekly downloads with a peak of 924K at the end of August. Revenue was modest, peaking at $756 in early August before tapering off to $276 by the end of September. Active users declined from approximately 80.5M to 75.8M over the quarter.

WhatsApp Business showed consistent download numbers, ranging from 848K to 940K per week. The app's active user base increased from 22.5M to over 23.6M. Revenue was minimal but showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching $6 in the final week of September.

Lastly, Brave Private Web Browser, VPN had a significant fluctuation in downloads, starting at approximately 1.6M in late June and dropping to 372K by the end of September. Revenue remained relatively stable, averaging around $100 per week. Active users saw a steady increase from 6.2M to 6.6M.
